Buddleia Groovy Grape First Editions®
This butterfly bush from First Editions® is deer resistant, drought-tolerant, and grows into an upright, slightly rounded tidy shape. Groovy Grape™ features arching 8″-10″ long, violet-purple flowers that are amazingly fragrant and will bloom into fall when deadheaded. The plant is easily rejuvenated by pruning back to 12″ from the ground. Groovy Grape™ is crown hardy in zone 5 and will flush from the base in spring.
Buddleias need full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Water freely when in growth and sparingly otherwise. In the summer, water if rainfall is less than 1″per week. Since they bloom on new wood, even if there is no die-back, cut them back to the ground every spring. Hardiness zones range from 5-9.
